We’ve been supporting children and families as a proudly independent organisation for nearly 160 years and, in that time, we have expanded to deliver more than 44 innovative support programs specifically designed to meet the needs of people across the Victorian Central Highlands.

Adoption and Permanent Care find families for infants and children who cannot live with their birth families.
The children and young people who enter care have a wide range of diverse needs and, at Cafs, we work to deliver a caring, stable environment through the use of TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) as our trauma informed model of care.
Whilst there are similarities the programs do have subtle differences and understanding those may assist you in deciding which one may be right for you.

About Thread Together
New clothes can mean the world to a person in need – it can help them get a new job, keep their children warm, or refill their wardrobe after fleeing family violence with nothing.
Cafs’ Thread Together clothing program gives people in need that security by providing brand-new clothing donated by Australian retailers.
Thread Together is a not-for-profit organisation driving social and environmental change by redistributing excess clothing stock through purpose-designed clothing hubs.
Without Thread Together, many of these items would end up in landfill.

Today is International Non-Binary Peoples Day! We celebrate those who are non-binary, the rich diversity of gender and celebrate people who do not fit into a binary gender.
In really simple terms, a non-binary person is someone who does not identify as exclusively a man or a woman. Someone who is non-binary might feel like a mix of genders, or like they have no gender at all.
Using correct pronouns is important. Many non-binary people prefer the pronouns they/them/their, but we recommend asking for their preference.
